Artificial Intelligence is the most talked-about technology in today’s world. It has been trending for the past few years, especially after the launch of ChatGPT by OpenAI in 2022.

But the truth is — AI didn’t suddenly appear in 2022. It existed long before that. Researchers, engineers, and companies had been working on it for years, trying to build something impactful. However, OpenAI managed to bring AI into the mainstream — and from that moment, everything changed.

AI started booming like crazy.

Everywhere you looked—companies, developers, entrepreneurs, influencers, even non-tech people—everyone was talking about one thing:

• “AI will take jobs.”
• “Developers will be replaced.”
• “Designers won’t be needed anymore.”

The Fear Every Beginner Feels

I started learning web development in 2024.

And honestly, I felt the same fear.

I kept thinking:

• Will AI take my job?
• Is my 4-year degree even worth it now?
• Am I too late?

It’s a very common beginner mindset. You feel like everything is moving too fast, and you’re already behind.

Before web development, I spent around 2 years learning Data Structures & Algorithms. But when you take a break, it feels like starting from zero again.

It’s like an infinite loop:

Learn → Pause → Forget → Restart

And with AI growing so fast, that pressure only increases.

My Perception

AI Is Powerful — No Doubt About It

Let’s be real — AI is amazing.

It can make you 10x more productive.

A task that used to take half a day can now be done in less than 2 hours. And that’s exactly what companies want — faster output in less time.

Sounds perfect, right?

Well… not always.

The Real Problem: Speed vs Understanding

Imagine this:

You complete your work quickly using AI. Less stress, more free time. Everything feels great.

But then your code goes into production.

And suddenly—it breaks.

Users can’t log in. Even the admin panel stops working. Your manager is asking you to fix it ASAP because the company is losing trust and money.

Now what do you do?

You go back to AI.

Copy. Paste. Retry. Repeat.

You try everything AI suggests — but the bug doesn’t go away.

Frustration builds up.

The Moment That Changes Everything

Then a senior engineer comes in.

You explain the entire issue.

He doesn’t panic.

He just asks simple questions:

• Where is the login implemented?
• How does the flow work?

He looks at the code… removes one line… adds another.

Refreshes the page.

And it works.

Just like that.

The problem that stressed you for hours was solved in seconds.

The Lesson

This is the difference between:

• Using AI blindly
• Using AI with understanding

AI can generate code. But it cannot replace fundamentals, debugging skills, or experience.

What Actually Matters in the Age of AI

No matter how advanced AI becomes, one thing remains constant:

Your skills define your value.

Yes, AI can help you:

• Generate boilerplate code
• Speed up development
• Automate repetitive tasks

But without strong basics, you’ll struggle when things go wrong.

And things will go wrong.

The Right Approach

Instead of fearing AI, use it the right way:

• Learn fundamentals deeply
• Understand what the code is doing
• Use AI as an assistant, not a replacement
• Practice consistently

It’s not easy. It never was.

But the goal is simple:

Be so good at your craft that AI becomes your advantage, not your competition.

Everything in this world is replaceable. Just like an umbrella is useless after the rain stops.
